Onion & Spinach Bread



  • French Bread Stick diagonally cut into four 2cm-thick slices (or your favourite bread!)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 onions, halved, coarsely chopped
  • 3 teaspoons brown sugar
  • handful of spinach


  1. Preheat oven to 200°C. Place bread on a baking tray. Bake in oven for 5 minutes or until golden. Remove from oven.

  2. Heat oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until slightly golden. Add sugar. Reduce heat to medium and cook, stirring, for 10 minutes or until onion caramelises. Add the spinach in for the last 30 seconds. Remove from heat.

  3. Spread bread with onion & spinach mixture. Bake in oven for 2 minutes or until heated through. Serve immediately.
